MENOPAUSE INFORMATION
Who: anyone wanting to learn a bit about the hormonal changes that occur for women in their 30's, 40's and 50's.
Why: is it important to get some information on this?
Women can spend 1/3 of their lives in this phase, and often (due to lack of knowledge and treatment options through conventional medicine) it is spent in poorer states of health than men of the same age.
re first point: Even in Medical schools today, young docs spend about 8 hours learning about this hormonal transition and are generally not taught how to manage it.
Reality: Women who are suffering any number of symptoms (there are 70-100 accepted symptoms of peri-menopause now recognized...not just hot flashes) and are not getting proper diagnosis, treatment options, or are just not being believed.
Every single week I hear medical professionals telling women to "just get through it, it’s natural, it won't last long"....NOT TRUE (in most cases).
It does take a village to support these transitions, but more importantly the burden "to support” will fall mainly on an individual woman's shoulders.
To women and the partners/family members that love them....there are things that can be done to manage this time. Only about 15% of women will go through this transition without symptoms...but THERE ARE THINGS TO KNOW and there are things THAT CAN BE DONE.

Next HUB is: Friday May 10 at 10am , and our topic is going to be "The importance of closing the stress loop".
When we go through a stressful event, our bodies are designed to move through 3 different stages of processing that stress. Often,as humans, we shut this process down and we never get to "come down"or reset our systems back to a "non-stress" baseline...we will talk about this, the consequences in a body of not resetting and what we can do to change this.
